This page explains how we handle personal data for customers and providers.
Who we are
SkilledContractors provides an online platform that helps customers and independent providers connect. SkilledContractors does not perform the work and is not a party to the service agreement between customer and provider. Company identity details are environment-driven and some legal details may be marked as not yet published. You can contact support for legal or privacy questions.
Data we collect
We collect account data (name, email, login and session data), customer job data (job description, city, budget, and uploaded photos), and provider profile data (company name, services, service areas, and KVK data where available). We also process communication data, technical logs such as IP address and user agent, and moderation data related to reviews and abuse prevention. Payment-related data categories will be introduced only when payments go live.
Why we use data
We use data to operate the platform, manage accounts, publish jobs, deliver messages, and protect customer contact details. We also use data for fraud prevention, business-registration checks where available, transactional emails, support, and legal compliance. Depending on context, legal bases include contract performance, legitimate interests, consent where required, and legal obligations.
Contact unlock and personal data
Customer contact details are protected by default. Before contact unlock, providers do not automatically receive full customer contact details; sharing may be restricted or sanitized. Contact data may be shown after accepted-offer and unlock rules are met, and manual admin unlock may be used during testing. These controls are intended to reduce spam and anti-circumvention behavior.
KVK verification
Providers may submit KVK information that can be checked against OpenKvK or similar registry sources where available. KVK verification confirms business-registration information where available. It is a trust signal, not a guarantee of quality, licensing, insurance, or performance.
Processors and sharing
We may use Supabase for hosting, database, and authentication infrastructure. We may use Resend or another email provider for transactional and support emails, and OpenKvK or similar sources for KVK checks. If payments go live, a payment provider may be added and documented before activation. We do not sell personal data, and we may share data with authorities when legally required.
Retention
Account, job, and message data may be retained while an account is active and for a reasonable period afterward. Support and complaint records may be retained for dispute resolution, security, and audit purposes. Some data must be retained where legally required, including for tax, anti-fraud, and compliance obligations. Data is deleted or anonymized where legally possible.
Security
We use HTTPS, access controls, and role-based permissions to protect data. Where applicable, Supabase RLS and database access controls are used, and contact details are masked before unlock rules are met. Rate limiting and anti-abuse controls may be applied where relevant. No technical system can guarantee absolute security.
Your rights
You may have rights under GDPR/AVG, including access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, objection, and withdrawal of consent where applicable. You can exercise your privacy rights by contacting support. We will handle requests within applicable legal timelines. Some data may need to be retained where legally required, for example for security, fraud prevention, disputes, tax, or legal obligations.
Children
The platform is not intended for users under 18. If we learn that data was submitted by a child, we may restrict the account and take corrective steps according to legal requirements.

We may update this policy when product features, legal obligations, or processors change. The latest version is published on this page with an updated date. For questions, contact support.
