Installing a new floor, sanding timber and investigating a defect are different requests. Describe the floor type, its current condition and the result you want. Laminate and click PVC need a suitable floating system; glue-down PVC requires a compatible base and adhesive build-up.

Timber, carpet and sanding have their own requirements. Sanding is only suitable for an appropriate wood surface and cannot repair a loose supporting structure. Tiling is a separate service. With underfloor heating, distinguish installing a new heating system from replacing the floor above an existing one.

Have the existing base assessed first. Agree materials, removal, levelling, adhesive or underlay, skirting, profiles, disposal and VAT. These items are not automatically included. Check apartment acoustic requirements and discuss doors and transitions before choosing the build-up.

For lifting laminate, loose PVC or creaking, describe the symptom, its location and when it began. A new floor is not automatically the solution.
